SAPPHIRE combines European engineering with an eco-design philosophy. Closed-loop white ink, proprietary air filtration, modular expansion and service directly from the builder. Lower environmental footprint. Higher production predictability. Easier ESG audits.
The EU’s ESPR (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation) directive is coming into force in stages and is covering wider and wider categories of industrial equipment. FESPA has published an anti-greenwashing guide for the printing industry.
CSRD, in turn, imposes new reporting obligations. Retail chains increasingly expect hard, documentable data on:
Machine designed with 7 answers to 7 auditor questions.

The printing section can be replaced after years with a new module. UV lamps and firmware are upgraded to newer versions. The machine does not die with use – it returns to factory condition thanks to a comprehensive overhaul at the IMAGO factory.

A proprietary white recirculation and mixing system based on Welco components. Ink is constantly on the move – no sedimentation, no pigment deposition, no daily start-ups throwing ink at a loss.
What it means for you
Lower ink consumption. Stable quality of the first piece. Less ink in waste. Shorter time to reach production quality.

A leak-proof 5-liter container limits the evaporation of volatile compounds into the hall. Sensors in the ink and waste tanks alert the operator before a problem occurs.
What it means to you
Legal disposal by a standard waste operator. Fewer health and safety incidents. Full control over the waste stream and its documentation.

Anti-dust system across the width of the printing area with replaceable filters. Undersink built into the table absorbs odors. Two UV lamp zones independently controlled – pinning and curing simultaneously reduces the exposure time of uncured ink.
What it means for you
Less fumes on the shop floor. Easier health and safety audit. The operator works without a mask. Less turnover on the job.

The inks are made in European plants. Proof-Lab selects formulations under the certifications required by the end user: REACH, EN 71-3 (toys and children’s products), EuPIA (food contact packaging), GREENGUARD Gold (low emissions of volatile compounds).
What it means for you
You can print on children’s products. Shorter logistics chain. Smaller carbon footprint of transportation. Predictable deliveries.

SAPPHIRE UF-40.63 operates at a power consumption of 400 watts. UV LED lamps – without mercury, many times less energy consumption than mercury lamps. Separate power control of each of the two lamps adjusts the illumination to the application.
What it means for you
Lower electricity bills. Less heat generated. Less stress on ventilation. Less heat load on components – longer life.

Direct manufacturer service. Remote inspection of the printing system. Autoreports of machine errors and conditions. Full technical and operating documentation in the machine. The operator performs most of the operating activities himself.
What it means to you
Shorter MTTR (mean time to repair). Less downtime. Independence from intermediaries. Lower cost of ownership over the machine’s life cycle.

Do you have questions about technology differences, the implementation process or printing capabilities? We’ve compiled the most frequently asked questions to help you better understand how Sapphire differs from other equipment and how it can realistically support your production process.
SAPPHIRE is designed modularly. After years of operation, we replace the printing section, UV lamps, dumper or electronics components without having to buy a new machine. Within the time available, IMAGO also conducts comprehensive overhauls that restore the machine to near-factory condition along with the warranty. This allows the machine to operate for more than 10 years, and depreciates the investment much more favorably.
UV LED inks for SAPPHIRE are manufactured in the EU. Proof-Lab selects formulations under certifications required by the end user: REACH (registration of chemicals in the EU), EN 71-3 (toy safety – migration of elements), EuPIA (guide for inks for printing food contact packaging), GREENGUARD Gold (low emission of volatile compounds) and others, depending on the application.
Liquid waste goes into a leak-proof, sensor-controlled 5-liter container. The standard format facilitates legal disposal by a certified hazardous waste operator. Sensors warn the operator before overflow occurs. The machine’s design itself reduces waste – thanks to precision MEMS heads and white recirculation, less ink is wasted during takeoff and cleaning.
Yes. The design allows multiple machines to be controlled from a single computer and operated remotely from a safe distance. This is important when scaling production – one operator oversees a larger fleet of machines, and the machines stand where they really add value in the process (e.g., in confectioning), not where they fit in the shop floor.
IMAGO services SAPPHIRE directly from Warsaw. You work with a team that knows the design of the machine from the drawing board. Remote diagnostics solve most problems without a service technician visit. Autoreports and embedded instructional videos under QR codes allow operators to perform maintenance on their own. The machine has extensive technical and operating documentation available on the machine.
Yes – this is the standard of cooperation with IMAGO. Proof-Lab in Warsaw performs tests on entrusted materials: selection of printing parameters, ICC profiles, primers, adhesion tests, chemical and mechanical resistance, UV exposure. You receive a test report, configuration recommendation, TCO cost estimate and acceptance criteria even before you make a decision.
The SAPPHIRE UF-40.63 operates at a power consumption of 400 watts. This consumption is comparable to mid-range household appliances. LED UV lamps instead of mercury lamps mean many times lower cycle power consumption and no mercury in the device.
It’s a good idea to see the proof before you buy. Send a sample of your material to Proof-Lab in Warsaw. You will receive a test report, recommended parameters, acceptance criteria and a TCO cost estimate tailored to your production.
No sales pressure or marketing jargon. We focus solely on your challenges and profitability.
We will immediately assess whether Sapphire can handle your specific material and tell you how to reduce changeover times.
We respect your time. Let's make a coffee (or virtual) appointment and get straight to the engineering specifics.
